| WATER COOLED ELECTRIC ARC FURNACE CABLES |

The cables are used to link the low voltage transformer output stationary bustubes or busbars to the movable electrode bustubes or busbars. All our cables are individually designed to suit the specifications of the secondary circuits of the particular furnace that it will serve, with a maximum capacity of 35000 amps per cable (working on the permissible current density intended for steel-works arc furnace cables of 4,5 amps/mm² and rising up to 9 amps/mm² for Ferroalloy Reduction.
We have the expertise to manufacture and supply or repair and refurbish water-cooled furnace cables to suit all your exact requirements ranging from various annular conductor designs - thermit welding; dimple crimping; hexagonal crimping or sweating terminations and with a variety of outer water-hose designs and external protection bumpers (which protect the cable from inter-cable friction; inter-cable shocks or impacts; heat radiation and protection of molten metal or slag).

| WATER COOLED RESISTANCE WELDING CABLES |

Kick and kickless cables are supplied primarily to the automotive industry. They are used to convey secondary current in a welding installation to the take off.
We are able to supply these cables in a variety of lengths; end fittings and ranging from 257 - 500 m.c.m

| LAMINATED COPPER CONNECTORS |
 |
Laminated copper connectors manifest a considerable degree of flexibility resulting from a number of thin copper sheets laminated together.
Various methods of manufacturing the contact palms are utilised: soldered, pressed, rivited, mig welded, "Thermit welding" and fused together.
These connectors are produced to perform the same function as the flexible braided connectors with the exception of having very little sideward movement. By increasing the number of sheets of copper shim, the current carrying capacity can be increased up to a maximum cross section of 7500mm² or 15000 amps.

| FLEXIBLE BRAIDED/STRANDED CONNECTORS |

These connectors have been developed specifically for the electrical distribution industry and are used extensively by generator and switchgear manufacturers to make electrical connections between bus-bars and transformers; bushings and transformers (or other distribution equipment, contactors etc...) or as an expansion joint between solid bus bar arrangements. Due to the wide variety, all of our flexible connections are manufactured to the particular requirements of each customer.

The full range up to 800mm² of tin plated copper crimping lugs; ferrules; T-connectors; solid centre; weak back and brazing ferrules are manufactured in-house.
In addition to the standard range the company is able to supply special lugs with either longer barrels; spades with two or four holes; 45° or 90° angles as well as a full range of heavy duty lugs.

| COPPER SLEEVE/EARTH SOCK |
 |
Earth Sock (Braided Sleeving) has been designed for use with heat shrinkable jointing systems and pressure joints. The sleeve is woven for maximum push back and will cater for cables from 1,5 mm² to 500mm². Copper sleeving can also be supplied as part of a complete earth continuity system for steel wire tape armoured cables using the Hepworth split compression ring system.

| COPPER BRAID |

Our standard range of either flat or circular rolled flat braid similar to DIN 7233 part 3 is extensive. Available with 0.1; 0.15; 0.21; 0.25; 0.31 or 0.45 gauge of plain or tinned plated annealed copper wire. Used as earth braids or continuous current carrying conductors with a capacity of 12 to 600 amps.

| CIRCULAR FLEXIBLE STRANDS |

Circular flexible copper strand can be manufactured and supplied to carry up to 3000 amps ranging from 1.5mm² to 1500mm² with various wire gauges from 0,1 to 1,85mm dia in plain or tinned annealed copper wire. The strand is used extensively for large motor windings transformer connections, heavy current shunts or furnace droppers. Cotton covering or heat resistant covering is offered is offered depending on the environment conditions, the ambient temperature or gas fumes.
